What training will I receive as an Enhanced Foster carers?
We provide three days training on the framework specifically covering child development, role of attachment and identifying the impact of early trauma. We cover what is meant by trauma treatment and the key strategies and targets to parent therapeutically.
The training covers ARC’s ten building blocks of the key treatment areas within the three domains of Attachment, Regulation and Competency. Each of these domains have their own building blocks totalling ten which breaks down the skills and knowledge which underpins our therapeutic parenting programme.
- Day 1 – Attachment and trauma theory
- Day 2 – ARC module 1-5
- Day 3 – ARC module 6-10
We also hold four weekly 90 minutes skills workshops to discuss how the knowledge and skills are being applied to our fostering practice. Each session will focus on one block at a time of the ARC model using the skills and discuss the successes already being made.
Enhanced carers also have access to all of Pride’s extensive training topics that are conducted either via a trainer or online.
